Aircraft Maintenance Manager
Outsourced - Luton
At A Glance
To lead a dedicated team to deliver Base Maintenance activities ( light & Heavy ) at external MRO's delivering a safe, punctual and efficient operation in line with the agreed maintenance strategy at the highest quality and safety standards.
To ensure TUI Travel's UK Airline operates in a safe, punctual and cost effective manner through the delivery of aircraft base maintenance support at outsourced locations. Delivering against a long term base maintenance strategy to plan and within budget whilst ensuring the highest quality, safety & reliability.
What You'll Be Doing
To lead a dedicated & well motivated team to maximise the on time delivery of aircraft checks ( Base Maintenance ) at outsourced locations.
Manage Outsource Base Maintenance requirements globally 24/7
To build supplier relationships & partnerships moving forward, ensure that all activities are conducted to world class standards of safety, quality, reliability & cost.
To deliver a sustained & reliable aircraft product to the airline operation
To ensure suppliers compliance with the negotiated Terms & Conditions of contract
To work with training department to define and schedule training requirements
Ensuring that all H&S polices are followed in accordance with Company Procedures and pro-actively promoting safe working
Promote a continuous improvement culture delivering efficiency and cost saving while enhancing the working environment
Action all audit programmes finding and ensuring corrective action takes place in a timely manner
Ensuring compliance with Departmental Handbooks and the MOE
Recruit & develop staff to meet the needs of the business
Deliver performance Appraisals & Development review programmes for staff and ensuring that all staff have a clear understanding of their Individual Obejectives and Department Key Performance indicators (KPI's)
Identifying staff, with a view to succession planning, and nominating candidates for both Technical and Personal Development
Participating in the engagement and disciplining of personnel in accordance with company procdures
Assiting in the preparation of budgets and other financial plans relevant to their area and controlling the budget allocated to their area
In the absence of your direct manager, assuming authority within an agreed scope for decision making
Participate in the Duty Manager / on call roster
Looking For
Aviation background with minimum of 5 years senior management experience
Degree in engineering ( or equivilant ) or Part 66 License Holder
Experience of delivering & managing change in a unionised environment
Excellet communication, presentational and negotiation skills
Proven leadership abilities with working knowledge of disciplinary and interviewing process
Proven ability to employ analytical tools to improved performance
Excellent financial awareness with regard to Business implications
Understanding of Human Factors and Health & Safety within the maintenance environment
Must maintain a full clean driving license
