First Air invites Applications for aviation scholarships

First Air becomes the newest scholarship program partner

YELLOWKNIFE – The Aviation Career Development Program (ACDP) is now receiving applications for 15, $5,000 scholarships to support full-time training in an aviation-related career. The studies can be related to airline or airport operations or management, aircraft maintenance, and pilot training.

First Air has just become the fifth airline partner of this scholarship program, and they have also joined the employment component of ACDP, offering the possibility of summer and long-term employment to current and former ACDP scholarship winners.

Participation in Air Force ROTC is a desirable, but not mandatory, criterion. The scholarships are available to juniors and seniors only. The amount of the scholarship is $1,000 per year and is distributed in the amount of $500 per semester.

Brief Scholarship Description: The NASA Aeronautics Scholarship Program is now being administered by the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). It is expected that approximately 20 two-year undergraduate, and 5 three-year graduate scholarships will be awarded annually to students pursuing aeronautical engineering and related fields. Total allocated award amounts are up to $40,000 for undergraduates and up to $125,000 for graduates. These funds will go towards tuition and related costs, as well as to provide paid summer internship opportunities at NASA research center.

Seeking suitably qualified and experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineers – Mechanical to perform operational maintenance and assigned maintenance tasks on Chinook aircraft, ensuring that all maintenance documentation is compliant with regulations.

Trade qualifications in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, and Chinook maintenance at Independent level, are essential. Supervisor level with the experience to be authorised to Independent will be considered.

To meet necessary security requirements, applicants must be Australian citizens or eligible for citizenship.
