Senior Technical Writer
CA Technologies - Hyderabad (Hyderabad Area, India)
This position is responsible for designing, creating, and modifying deliverables. Author deliverable design documents, communicate with technical staff, and use the products they document. Deliverables must be appropriate for the intended audience and follow Technical Information standards. Typically work closely with other writers and managers.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyze deliverable needs for multiple projects and recommend staffing and schedules
* Create and update planning documents
* Adapt to and implement new procedures, processes, and corporate directives
* Manage multiple project assignments simultaneously, such as working on a major release and a service pack
* Mentor other writers
* Monitor, update, and manage PRIME tasks
* Master one or more products or components
* Write technically accurate, grammatically correct information
* Meet project deadlines
* Review, assign, and resolve STAR issues
* Provide feedback on product design, features, and functionality to the project team
* Report project status
Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in Technical Writing or English. Master's Degree or global equivalent in Technical Writing or English desired.
Work Experience Typically 5 or more years of experience in Technical Information.
Skills * Ability to author and edit deliverables for online and printed distribution.
* Ability to restructure an existing documentation set to improve usability.
* Ability to perform independent research to understand the product.
* Ability to set priorities and escalate issues appropriately.
* Ability to communicate with the project team.
* Mastery of documentation tools used by CA including Microsoft Office, Author-it, and Adobe Acrobat, and experience with multiple operating systems, programming concepts, and source control
