Senior Aerospace Engineer

Job Description
This is a senior engineering position, focusing on aerodynamic characteristics of flight vehicles. This individual relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, and performs a variety of complicated tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
The candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Prediction and modeling of the aerodynamic characteristics of flight vehicles, particularly unmanned air vehicles (UAV)
• Use of aerodynamic engineering codes and computational fluid dynamics to compute airframe performance
• Participation in wind-tunnel tests to capture critical aerodynamic characteristics and render data into high-fidelity aerodynamic models
• Computation of missile airframe aerodynamic characteristics using a variety of in-house and commercial tools
• Development of aero models for various flight vehicles
• Support of wind-tunnel testing by providing pretest predictions, technical oversight and post test data analysis
• Develop and/or support appropriate 3DoF and 6DoF flight simulation models
• Participation in new business development and independent research & development initiatives
• Interaction with potential and current customers
• Preparation of white papers and proposals for business development
Desired Skills & Experience
• MS or PhD in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering with training in aerodynamics, vehicle control and dynamics, incompressible/compressible flow and computational fluid dynamics
• Minimum of 8 years experience in airframe aerodynamics analysis, wind-tunnel testing and aerodynamic model development is desired
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Business development capabilities
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
