Engineering occupations for migration
Engineering and more expertise such as Aeronautical, agricultural, biomedical, naval, materials and engineering mangers are included in the list. The great news is all engineering occupations are included in schedule 1, which allows applicants to take the independent migration option or state/territory nominated options. Furthermore, majority of engineering occupations are now sponsored by most state and regions in Australia. To make things more positive, engineers will qualify for government sponsorships with the basic IELTS scores of 6 in each band. This is a very encouraging factor for engineers who did not meet the migration passmark due to English criteria.
States such as Western Australia, where mining is the biggest income, WA sponsors engineering applicants with IELTS 6 in each band. According to a report published by Kim McDonald in the West Australian on the 11 October 2011, WA is set for an influx of skilled migrants with four in five WA companies surveyed by audit firm KPMG indicating they planned to hire from abroad in the next 12 months. A study by KPMG said international recruitment was on the rise because skills shortages were growing in every State except Queensland, affecting 61 per cent of employers surveyed, compared with 51 per cent last year. KPMG partner in migration services Jason Berry said improving job opportunities in the east would make it harder for WA employers to poach staff as the resources boom gathered pace. The report showed WA companies were experiencing the steepest rise in skills shortages, with the number of employers indicating a shortfall jumping 18 per cent to two-thirds of all those surveyed. Immigration Department statistics show WA's intake of subclass 457 visa workers skyrocketed 85 per cent in July compared with the same month last year. WA employers sponsored 1230 migrant workers in July compared with 670 a year ago.
Migration process for engineering professionals
The Engineers Australia is the authority assessing the suitability of the skills level. The applicants are required to write a report by the name of Competency Demonstration Report (CDR), if the engineering qualifications are from Sri Lanka. This report is the key for IE Australia to a decision if an applicant is meeting the competency standards. Therefore, lot of thought must be put in when compiling this report. My most recent experience in the assessment process is there is rigorous analysis in particular to mechanical engineering profession. It seems to me there is more emphasis on the design component to the mechanical engineering aspect to be able to recognize as a professional engineer. Engineering is an occupation where careful attention is a must. The reason is, if you aim for a professional engineering occupation, and your result is an engineering technologist, your migration pathway must change dramatically. In addition to the report, applicants must submit a recent IELTS test score of not less than 6 in each band for all components.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University retained its rank as the best aerospace engineering program in the nation for the 12th straight year while Stetson University in DeLand remained one of the South's top regional universities, according to U.S. News & World Report.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Daytona Beach campus placed No. 1 in the category of "Aerospace/Aeronautical/Astronautical" for engineering schools with bachelor and master's degrees.
Embry-Riddle's main Daytona Beach campus continued leading the way in the nation for best undergraduate engineering programs in the category of "aerospace/aeronautical/astronautical" for schools with bachelor or master degrees. The campus in Prescott, Ariz., ranked third -- similar to last year.

Crystal Harris’s Job:
Ever wonder who is testing the design and development of a new aircraft? At Boeing, it is crystal and a team of engineers and technicians. As a flight test analysis engineer, she examines engine, noise levels, landing gear suspension and other systems to ensure aircraft safety and comfort.
Interesting Job Experiences: Testing of the aircraft enough adventure and of course, not an office job! As Crystal says, her team evaluates an aircraft of the fire alarm system(smoke detection system), "inflammation of contained fire and filling the test compartment with smoke, and then wait for the amount of time required for detection to occur."
She and the team as "heat soak" the plane to make sure the electrical system can withstand high temperatures. Another test they perform is racing airplanes at high speeds on runways and check the tires and brakes.
Testing a record-breaking plane:
The first plane Crystal ever tested broke the world record for the longest non-stop flight by a passenger airliner. The Boeing 777 flew non-stop for almost 23 hours, taking off in Hong Kong and landing in London—more than half way around the world!

This announcement follows the ‘protocol of intentions’ contract signed on 21 February 2010, outlining the development and delivery of the Safran engines for the Russian-built Ka-62 helicopter.
The state-of-the-art Ardiden 3 line engines are designed for 6 to 8 tonnes helicopters which perform a variety of functions and can fully respond to market requirements in this growing niche. The modular design and dual channel FADEC, make the Ardiden 3 highly reliable and easy to use, with the benefit of an exceptionally low fuel consumption. The Ka-62 are to be fitted with a specific variant of the Ardiden 3 family, the Ardiden 3G engine.
Currently Russian Helicopters is expanding its range of light and medium multifunctional twin-engine helicopters intended for multiple missions such as transport, EMS, aerial work and surveillance.
The Ka-62 helicopter is a new single-rotor design in the medium class designed to international flight safety requirements. It is built with an enclosed tail rotor and an airframe and propeller blades consisting of over 50% polymeric composite materials.
It is designed to transport 12 to 14 passengers in the cabin or a 2.5 tonnes load on the external sling, and is equipped with efficient anti-icing and fire-fighting systems in standard configuration. The Ka-62 is expected to be certified in 2014 and will be used by the oil & gas industry, for search and rescue missions and corporate transportation.
This is not the first joint project between Russian Helicopters and Turbomeca: in 2009 they contracted the development and serial engine production of the Arrius 2G1 to be installed on Ka-226T, the new Russian light twin-engine helicopter with coaxial rotor.

Sr. Product Manager (RF & Microwave) for Defence & Aerospace
Job Description
7-10 Years of Rich Marketing Experience in RF & Microwave, / Millimeter wave Components systems / sub- systems to the various Defense R&D Labs, its Production group & to the various Space Organization Centre(s).
JOB PROFILE
1) Will lead a team of FAE’s for Demand Creation / Marketing of the above products from Existing Line Card to various Defense Aerospace and Space Design Centre(s), Production organizations and their subcontractors.
2) Will be the Focal Point of Contact for the Principals for Yearly Projections, Marketing Plan and Strategies.
3) Will be managing the entire product Design In to Sales cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
4) Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
5) Driving a Marketing Plan set across development teams in Customer Organizations (primarily Development/Engineering, and Production) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning.
6) Developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
7) Analyzing potential partner relationships for the product Tie Up’s
