Reporting to the Manager of Aircraft Maintenance, the successful candidate will perform aircraft maintenance functions as necessary to supply airworthy aircraft for flight operations in accordance with FAA regulations, company policies and procedures. Position Requirements:
Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification
3 plus years of experience as an A&P Technician working on aircraft of the category and class operated

William M. Fanning Maintenance Scholarship
The scholarship is named in honor of retired NBAA staff member William M. Fanning, who was active in maintenance issues during his nearly 20-year tenure at the Association.
Awards will be made to U.S. citizens without regard to sex, race, religion or national origin. Scholarships will be awarded in the fall of 2012, and checks will be made payable to the school. Scholarship recipients must use the funds by December 31, 2013, or risk forfeit of the award.
A completed and signed application form must be accompanied by an essay, official transcript or acceptance letter, resume and letter of recommendation. See application form for details.

Alan H. Conklin Business Aviation Management Scholarship
Conklin & de Decker, in coordination with NBAA, established the Alan H. Conklin Business Aviation Management Scholarship in 2007 to benefit undergraduates pursuing careers in business aviation management.
The scholarship was created to honor the memory of Al Conklin, a U.S. Air Force veteran and business aviation leader for more than 60 years. Conklin’s experience as a business aircraft salesman in the early decades of his career informed his later work in proving the economic value of aircraft to business. With Bill de Decker, he first published the Aircraft Cost Evaluator in the 1970s and later founded Conklin & de Decker, an aviation information company that provides aircraft operating cost and performance data.
NBAA and Conklin & de Decker annually award $5,000 to an undergraduate student who is officially enrolled in an aviation management program at a University Aviation Association (UAA) member school. Scholarships will be awarded for the 2012–2013 academic year, and checks will be made payable to the school. Awards will be made to U.S. citizens or permanent residents without regard to sex, race, religion or national origin. Gulfstream Aerospace Corp., in conjunction with Women in Corporate Aviation, will award two $5,000 scholarships for professional development or career advancement in the field of maintenance aviation technology.
The award winners will be considered for future co-op and internship positions with Gulfstream, a corporate member of Women in Corporate Aviation.
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics designs, develops, manufactures, markets, services and supports the world’s most technologically advanced business-jet aircraft.
The scholarships will be administered by Women in Corporate Aviation and are open to anyone pursuing a career in aviation maintenance, enrolled in an aviation maintenance technician program or avionics training program, or seeking a degree in aviation maintenance technology. Those interested in applying for a scholarship should contact Women in Corporate Aviation, 4450 Nicholas Lane, Southhaven, Miss. 38672. The deadline for applications is Sept. 30, 2012.
Applicants will be considered based on their personal accomplishments, community involvement, academic standing and career goals. Applicants must be 18 or older, a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and have a high school diploma or GED. In addition, applicants must submit a 500- to 1,000-word essay detailing how this scholarship will benefit their education or career path.

Ross Wagner Aviation Scholarships: Local high school students looking for a career in engineering are encouraged to apply for the Ross Wagner Scholarship.
Several full-expense reimbursement scholarships have been established by Gemini Incorporated in honor of Ross Wagner, who was chairman of the company's Board of Directors from 1988-1992.
The Ross Wagner Scholarships provide full-ride scholarships for students majoring in civil, biomedical, aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, aerospace, and chemical engineering. Students seeking degrees in chemistry and physics may also apply.

SINGAPORE : A new working scholarship has been announced for the aviation sector to attract high-calibre students from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and polytechnics.
Speaking at the Aviation Open House at Downtown East on Thursday, Minister of State for Transport Josephine Teo said the Aviation Horizons Scholarship will enable companies to recruit ITE or polytechnic graduates immediately upon graduation.
Together with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, the companies can then sponsor the youths for part-time studies for higher qualification.
She said the scholarship aims to allow students to acquire work experience in the aviation sector, while they pursue further studies.
Mrs Teo also announced the Aviation Youth Outreach Seed Fund, which aims to expand the range of aviation interest activities currently organised for youths by the industry, associations and student groups.
She said the Seed Fund can support new ideas put forward by groups to nurture a passion for aviation in youth.
Both the initiatives are part of the S$9 million Aviation Manpower Programme (AMP) launched last year.
It aims to build the aviation manpower base through the attraction, development and retention of talent.

SAN DIEGO — Airports Council International - North America’s (ACI-NA) Commissioners’ Committee accepted the Scholarship Review Committee's recommendation to award scholarships of $2,500 each to two aviation students, at the ACI-NA Commissioners’ Committee meeting in San Diego, California. Recipients include Cameron McGillicuddy, a student at Western Michigan University’s College of Aviation in Battle Creek, Michigan and Andrew Roybal, a student at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
The Commissioners’ Committee Scholarship is designed to encourage and promote excellence in the educational areas necessary for effective airport management or operation. The ACI-NA Commissioners’ Committee has awarded more than 40 scholarships totaling $120,000 to students within the past 18 years.
ACI-NA Commissioners established the Scholarship Fund in October 1993 to recognize students with high academic achievement who are working toward a career in airport management or airport operations. The scholarship program recognizes the importance of the highly specialized education necessary for an individual to receive to fill the extremely complex and multi-disciplined role of being a professional airport administrator or airport operator.
To effectively run today’s modern aviation facilities an airport manager or airport operator must have high levels of management, operational and accounting skills coupled with some aviation experience. Details on the Fall 2011 scholarship winners follow:
Cameron McGillicuddy attends Western Michigan’s College of Aviation and is pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Aviation Science and Administration, as well as a Minor in Communications. McGillicuddy interns at Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport and has helped with the airport’s harmonization effort as they transferred terminals earlier this year. He has also volunteered with Air Traffic Controllers at Gerald R. Ford International Airport. McGillicuddy’s ultimate career goals include, being in a challenging aviation position where he can make a difference and remain involved beyond the requirements of a nine-to-five position.
Andrew Roybal is a student at the University of North Dakota where he is pursuing a combined B.B.A. / M.B.A. degree in Airport Management. Roybal aspires to one day manage a major airport and is barreling full steam ahead towards that goal. He is a native of Denver, Colorado and is very interested in working at Denver International Airport, citing its uniqueness in airport size and ownership structure as a great challenge and opportunity for an aspiring airport director.

She has been an intern with Rolls-Royce Regional Customer Training Center and is interested in airport management.

She has a private pilot’s license, instrument rating, and commercial pilot multi-engine with over 144 hours.
William M. Fanning Maintenance Scholarship
The Fanning Scholarship is named in honor of retired NBAA staff member William M. Fanning, who was active in maintenance issues during his nearly 20-year tenure at the Association. This year’s recipients are as follows:
Robert Boyle, an enrolled A&P student at Michigan Institute of Aviation and Technology. He has an Associate’s degree and spent 10 years in the U.S. Air Force as an avionics technician. He has also earned an Aircraft Electronics Technician Certification from NCATT.
Paul Mizak is an entering student at Western Michigan University enrolled in aviation maintenance. He graduated from high school cum laude and intends to specialize in jet engines.
NORDAM Dee Howard/Etienne Fage Scholarship
The NORDAM Dee Howard/Etienne Fage Scholarship was created by The NORDAM Group to honor the lifetime achievements of two aerospace engineering pioneers, Dee Howard and Etienne Fage. Receiving the award this year is Amanda Bjorkland, a sophomore at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in electrical engineering. She previously served in the U.S. Navy, completed Naval Nuclear Power School, and interned with NASA. She also has served in the Civil Air Patrol.
David W. Ewald Journalism Scholarship
NBAA established the David W. Ewald Journalism Scholarship in 2007 to benefit a student intending to pursue a career in journalism. The scholarship is named in honor of Dave Ewald, who spent nearly 50 years serving the business aviation community as a magazine publisher and industry spokesperson. This year’s recipient is Kara Philp, a journalism student at Arizona State University who previously served in the U.S. Air Force as a public affairs specialist. She also was previously deployed to Iraq and used her journalism skills in a combat zone.

Paul Mizak is an entering student at Western Michigan University enrolled in aviation maintenance. He graduated from high school cum laude and intends to specialize in jet engines.
NORDAM Dee Howard/Etienne Fage Scholarship
The NORDAM Dee Howard/Etienne Fage Scholarship was created by The NORDAM Group to honor the lifetime achievements of two aerospace engineering pioneers, Dee Howard and Etienne Fage. Receiving the award this year is Amanda Bjorkland, a sophomore at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in electrical engineering. She previously served in the U.S. Navy, completed Naval Nuclear Power School, and interned with NASA. She also has served in the Civil Air Patrol.
David W. Ewald Journalism Scholarship
NBAA established the David W. Ewald Journalism Scholarship in 2007 to benefit a student intending to pursue a career in journalism. The scholarship is named in honor of Dave Ewald, who spent nearly 50 years serving the business aviation community as a magazine publisher and industry spokesperson. This year’s recipient is Kara Philp, a journalism student at Arizona State University who previously served in the U.S. Air Force as a public affairs specialist. She also was previously deployed to Iraq and used her journalism skills in a combat zone.

Dreams of becoming a pilot, aviation engineer or air traffic controller, are expected to apply for a place on Cotswold Airport’s 2012 Aviation Scholarships programme.
The scheme, which was first introduced four years ago, gives teenagers aged between 14 and 18, the chance to embark on a career in aviation and gain experience and training close to home. Funded by Cotswold Airport owner and chief executive Ronan Harvey and run in conjunction with the airport-based fly2help charity and flying organisations
Cotswold Airport (Kemble) has launched its 2012 Aviation Scholarships programme giving local youngsters the chance to embark on a career in aviation and gain experience and training close to home. The scholarship offers 10 places to teenagers between 14 and 18 in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. During the scholarships, students experience flight, receive tuition at the airports aviation ground school, see at first-hand the work of air traffic controllers, flying instructors and engineers, and receive expert guidance from aviation professionals.

Teens-in-Flight Mission Statement:
Through the modem of aerospace education Teens in Flight open the doors of new opportunities. Teens-In-Flight provides training of pilots and aviation maintenance scholarships to those teens who have lost a parent or sibling in the Global War On Terrorism or, is the teen or sibling of a parent who was wounded in action and is disabled.
Teens-In-Flight has added Flagler County Sheriff Don Fleming, Flagler County School Board member Colleen Conklin and retired Navy Seal James Nicola to the Teens-In-Flight board of directors.
Teens-In-Flight is accepting applications for their flight training and aviation maintenance scholarships. Eligible teenagers are those who have lost a parent in the Global War on Terrorism, have a parent who was wounded in action and is disabled, or teens who are considered "at risk" within the community.
Further eligibility requirements and applications are available online at teens-in-flight.com. Applications can be mailed to Teens-In-Flight, 23 Felwood Lane, Palm Coast, Florida, 32137, or dropped off at the open house at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Hangar B of the Flagler County Airport.
